The Jackson Heart Foundation has partnered with the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) to launch a new public health study focused on the Museum Trail.
“Mississippi is thought of as the unhealthiest state in the country. Jackson is right there in the middle. We want to provide an area where people can go out and exercise and enjoy each other's company. Museum Trail promotes healthier activities and brings the community together. It's like one big linear park.”

“Heart disease affects millions of people. And now our youngest generation is at risk because of childhood obesity. If we can teach them the importance of making healthy decisions regarding nutrition and exercise, then we will help make a difference in the health of our future generations,"
— Dr. Clay Hays, Jackson Heart Foundation
